The flu has finally flown!

My full sympathy to anyone who has just battled the horrible bug! What a nasty strain and how long it lingers!

I hope you have all enjoyed your dry January or your Ginuary, whichever one you opted for. Mine has been a bit of a washout as the flu made its way through the family. I really knew I wasn't feeling myself when the thought of a gin was not good! Three dry weeks in total, in spite of the fact that it is birthday month in our house.

As January draws to a close and I feel like writing, I thought it was about time I revealed our top Gin choice in the 12 Gins of Christmas. This one will of course make an excellent choice for February too!

Well a big drum roll and it is the delicious Harris Gin all the way from the Isle of Harris in the Hebrides.

Yes, this is the one that has the lovely bottle everyone wants and they famously suffered a serious gin drought which made headlines! Not only is the bottle attractive, the gin is too. The addition of sugar kelp gives this gin a slight salty air about it and one that I love. There are nine botanicals and the spirit captures the flavours of the Outer Hebrides perfectly in the marine themed bottle. The top of the cork displays the coordinates of the distillery, an original and interesting idea.

So here's to February and a chance to taste our number one. Trust me, you won't be disappointed!
